Puppy Chow

I'll never forget the first time I tried this delicious treat at a friend's house... the best strange looking treat I'd ever had!  She called it "puppy chow", but since then, I've seen it marketed as Muddy Buddies.  Anyway, the other day I was thinking about my baby sister and our mutual love of this treat, so I decided to make it for old time's sake...

8 cups rice Chex cereal
1 cup semi-sweet non-dairy chocolate chips
1/2 cup natural or sweetened peanut butter
1/4 cup Earth Balance (I used non-soy)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 - 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

1: Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter and Earth Balance on a medium heat and mix until smooth
 2: Add vanilla and stir
3: Pour over Chex cereal in a large bowl and gently fold until all pieces are covered in the mix
4: Pour mix into a large zip bag and add powdered sugar, shaking and checking to see that all pieces are covered in sugar.
5: I used a bowl with an airtight lid to mix mine instead of a bag and added sugar a little at a time, as I am not fond of overly sugared treats. ;)  To each her own!
 Refrigerate leftovers.

 Makes: 8-9 cups
